Previously Brewed Beers

These are beers that I brewed but have been consumed by greedy beer drinkers who either visited or already live at the brewery:

  • Archived Beers:
These are beers which I brewed, but most likely will not brew again... at least in the near future.  Currently, these are all recipes with Mr. Beer bases.

  • Gringo Cervesa
My first Cinco De Mayo beer, and one I plan to make again with a tweak or two.  I thought it turned out a very good pale ale.  My second attempt of this beer will actually be quite different.  I am planning a "Cream Ale" with some cascade dry hopping for Cinco De Mayo 2010.

  • Rocktoberfest Ale
Seasonal beer to drink during the baseball playoffs ... hopefully while the Rockies are going to another world series.  The first one was a dark, balanced, almost sweet brew with a decent ABV.  It was sort of a dunkle munich style ale.  2010 will most likely be closer to a traditional Ocktoberfest lager without any Mr. Beer ingredients.  Will brew this again starting early next August.

  • Whisky Wife Wheat
Started out as a Mr. Beer recipe as a pretty standard Hefeweizen.  Think I am going to start over with my own ingredients and also move more towards a wit bier to approximate Shock Top or maybe Blue Moon.  NOTE:  see also WWW II.

  • X-Mas Ale:
Based mostly on a Mr. Beer recipe "Ol' St. Nick's Midnight Ale".  Dark, highly malted flavorfully yummy.  A great holiday beer.  Probably will modify quite a bit for next year.

  • Eric's Red Ale
One of my favorite Mr. Beer recipes. Think I will start to phase this out with Eric's Red II.

  • Monkish Wit
One of the beer mixes I got from Christmas gift certificates was Mr. Beer's Witty Monk Witbier premium refill. I made it ... with a couple of minor changes. Turned out pretty good.

  • Brother Bear Dopplebock

  • Leprechaun Stout
A nicely balanced Irish Stout with just the right amount of peppermint to make this a minty treat.

  • Dragon Spit Brown Ale
Started as a Mr. Beer recipe. Working on making it non-Mr. Beer. Hoping it will end up like an extra hoppy Moose Drool.

  • Fools' Gold Ale
I really like Boulder Beer Company's Buffalo Gold and so I designed a beer based on information I got at the company's website. Good beer, but so far it has not been close to Buffalo Gold.

Future Brews

Beers that I am planning on brewing in the future.

  • Breasty Bimbo Blonde Ale
Based on the success of Wetta Blonde and Girly Berry (without fruit) blonde ales seem to be pretty popular with others who drink my beer.  But, I really wanted to develop a bigger brew in the blonde range and I wanted to get away from Mr. Beer HMEs.  This is my first attempt to develop a beer that satisfies this desire.

  • Whisky Wife Wheat II
Well, as part of my quest to start moving away from Mr. Beer ingredients, I have decided to brew up 2 versions of WWW.  Both will be attempts to get closer to Blue Moon or Shock Top.  This one will be completely free of Mr. Beer ingredients.  The other one will use the old Mr. Beer formulation for the base.

  • Eric's Red II
Yes, I keep saying Eric's Red is my favorite or one of my favorites (depends on my mood).  I have made it my goal to make most of the core SheppyBrew recipes non-Mr. Beer based, and as Eric's Red may be considered the "flag ship" of SheppyBrew, I would especially like it to be totally my own recipe.  This is my first attempt at that goal.

  • Fox Sox Knox Rye Pale Ale
Based mostly on a Can you Brew It recipe for Terrapin Type Pale Ale, this is my first recipe using rye.

Random Internet Recipe's:

I would like to try the following recipes someday.  Putting them here so I can easily find them.

  • 1554 Clone
rniles from the Mr. Beer forum posted this.  I think I might try it sometime.  It is all-grain, so I may just use the specialty grains and hops (and spices) part of the recipe.  We'll see.

  • Killians Irish Red Clone:
Came across this on the internet and thought I would mark it for later.

  • Moose Drool Clone:
From D-Rock on the Mr. Beer Forums.

  • D Train Brewery Maple Nut Brown Ale
Not sure if I want to try another Maple, but just in case I am putting the link in here.  Another one from D-Rock on the Mr. Beer Forums.  I have to say this guy is my hero.

  • Big Dave's Sam Adams Clone
He did this "all grain", which I am not ready for, but he also gives an extract suggestion.

  • HHB's Dark Hefeweizen
Mr. Beer ingredients with some steeping grains plus some DME.  Looks interesting to me.

  • Mai Tyre (Fat Tire Clone)
Another D-Rock recipe.  Partial Mash with pretty good instructions.  Looks somewhat similar to the one from my LHBS, but is sized for a Mr. Beer size keg.  Probably try this one first.

  • BeerSmith Recipes
    Sample recipes from BeerSmith.
